WHAT LOVE?

Do you know what love is,
do you really know what love is?
I doubt it!
If you knew love, you’d be in love.
In love with who?
In love with you!
In love with her, in love with me, in love with God,
in love with one, in love with you.
I don’t think you know what love really is. If you did
you’d be in tune with the birds, you’d be in tune with
the bees, you’d be in tune with the leaves on the trees
and the forest blowing in a breeze. . .
If you knew love.
I don’t think you do.
I think you need to look deep, look deeper
down within yourself, within the ground, within the earth.
Earth is what you are, and that’s all there is to love — you!
